Collagen powder or capsules: what should you compare?
Prefer not to prepare another drink every day? Capsules offer a different format. But when comparing two collagen supplements, you also need to look inside.
Format shapes your routine. Ingredients define the formula.
Powder or capsules describes presentation. Marine, bovine or eggshell membrane describes a source and, in some cases, a different material. Hydrolysates can come in capsules as well as powders: a capsule is not a category of collagen in itself.
For Eclo, the important distinction is between an eggshell-membrane matrix and a collagen hydrolysate. That is why we explain both before discussing format.
What changes in everyday use?
| Criterion | Powder | Capsules |
|---|---|---|
| Preparation | A serving to measure or a sachet to use, depending on the product. | A capsule count specified on the label. |
| Taking it | Mix according to the manufacturer's instructions. | Swallow with water as instructed. |
| Quantity to check | Ingredient weight, not just the total serving weight. | Daily amount, not just the amount per capsule. |
| Practical consideration | May suit a routine that already includes preparing a drink. | No dedicated drink to prepare, but you need to be able to swallow the capsules. |
| Evidence of efficacy | Format alone is not enough. | Format alone is not enough. |
The right format is the one that genuinely suits you. Being able to take it consistently matters to your choice, without replacing the need to check composition and evidence.
300 mg of matrix is not 300 mg of pure collagen.
Reggenerate™ is derived from eggshell membrane. This material naturally contains several components, including collagens, elastin, hyaluronic acid and other glycosaminoglycans. The 300 mg figure is the weight of the matrix.
A collagen hydrolysate and this matrix have different compositions. You cannot infer that milligrams of one equal several grams of the other, or claim better absorption from the format alone. The Reggenerate™ dossier explains the available evidence.

Two Eclo formulas, the same daily format.
Collagen 300 mg
A focused formula: 300 mg of Reggenerate™ and 60 mg of Quali®-C vitamin C per day. Two capsules. A 60-capsule bottle provides 30 days.
Choose the eggshell-membrane matrix with vitamin C, without Régénère's additional ingredients.

A multi-active formula: Reggenerate™, SkinAx²™, CoQ10, magnesium bisglycinate, saffron and vitamins. Two capsules per day; 60 capsules per bottle.
Choose the matrix within a broader composition, without adding a different way of taking it.
View Régénère™Both formulas contain egg and are not vegan. A plant-based capsule shell does not change the origin of the ingredients.
The price of a bottle is only part of the comparison.
Start with the number of days supplied at the recommended dose. Then compare the price for that duration and the material actually provided. Price per gram is useful only when the ingredients make that comparison meaningful: it does not measure efficacy.
Product pages show current prices and packs. A multi-bottle pack changes the quantity purchased, not the recommended daily dose.
A useful order for choosing.
First the material: hydrolysate or matrix, source, composition and studies. Then the format: preparation, servings and convenience. Finally the offer: days supplied, total price and purchasing terms. This avoids choosing a bottle solely for a large number on its label or an apparently lower price.
