Eco-Designed and Responsible Packaging
Packaging optimised product by product towards the most sustainable options.
Bio-based materials, glass, recyclability, compostability: the right solution depends on the format.
Eco-design
without generalising
Our work on packaging began with our cosmetics: compact formats and biosourced jars designed to reduce the use of plastic.
As Eclo expands into skincare and supplements, the constraints evolve. Glass, biosourced materials, recyclability and compostability do not serve the same uses.
Our principle remains the same: choose the most coherent solution for each product and communicate precisely about its end of life.
Our original cosmetic jars are eco-designed
For several of our original cosmetics, we chose jars made from biosourced materials, notably plant-based components and wood.
Their composition and end-of-life instructions are specified for the products concerned; we do not generalise these characteristics to all Eclo packaging.
Some cosmetic jars are compostable
Some of our cosmetic jars were developed for end-of-life composting under specific conditions and standards.
Instructions depend on the material and the infrastructure available: refer to the information for the product concerned rather than a single rule for the whole range.
For the packaging concerned, compliance with the EN 13432 standard is indicated here.
Each category has its own solution
Packaging must protect its formula properly, remain pleasant to use and limit its impact as much as possible.
Our cosmetics, skincare and supplements do not share the same constraints: we therefore evolve our materials and formats product by product, without promising a single solution.
