Hyaluronic acid capsules: what daily dose should you look for?
120 mg, 200 mg, more? When comparing hyaluronic-acid supplements, start with the amount actually provided each day, then identify the material studied.
A clear dose, not an isolated number.
A number on a bottle may describe the weight of a raw material, the hyaluronic acid it provides or the total of several ingredients. It may also refer to one capsule rather than the daily serving. These figures answer different questions.
In Eclo's Hyaluronic Acid formula, the two-capsule serving contains 224.8 mg of ExceptionHYAL® Star to provide 200 mg of hyaluronic acid. The 80 mg of vitamin C is listed separately. That is neither 224.8 mg of pure HA nor 280 mg of HA.
120 or 200 mg: what do the studies establish?
| Published example | Dose and duration | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Kawada et al., 2015 | 120 mg/day; 6 weeks; two molecular weights. | A documented dose for the materials tested. |
| Michelotti et al., 2021 | 200 mg/day of ExceptionHYAL® Star; 28 days. | The dose reference in this ingredient's evidence base. |
These trials do not directly compare 120 and 200 mg of the same product under identical conditions. They establish neither a universal threshold nor that 200 mg is always better than 120 mg. A studied dose is not a demonstrated minimum effective dose.
For the protocol and limitations, see the ExceptionHYAL® Star dossier. Ingredient publications are not trials of the finished Eclo formulas.
The same HA dose, two compositions.

Three checks before buying
The serving: compare daily doses, not one brand's single capsule with another's two capsules. The material: identify its name and characteristics. The whole formula: check other nutrients and precautions, particularly when you already take a supplement.
Capsule count and days supplied also tell you what you are buying. Here, 60 capsules at two per day provide 30 days. Current packs and prices are available on the product pages.
More is not a dosing instruction.
Follow the recommended dose on the label; do not double a serving to seek faster results. Ressource and Hyaluronic Acid already share their main ingredient, so taking both is not an automatic starting point.
Ask a healthcare professional for advice during pregnancy or breastfeeding, when taking medication or with a health condition. Food supplements do not replace a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of young children.
