Does SkinAx²™ contain collagen?

No. It combines plant ingredients and micronutrients. The supplier’s commercial phrase “vegan collagen booster” does not mean the complex is collagen. Vitamin C has an authorized European claim: it contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin when the conditions of use are met.

What did the published human study show?

The study published in Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology included 35 women aged 40 to 70 with a dull complexion. They received 150 mg/day for eight weeks. The authors assessed skin colour, luminosity, imperfections, firmness and participants’ perceptions.

Reported findings included a 25.9% increase in luminosity and an overall 18.0% reduction in facial imperfections versus baseline. The authors also reported improvements in certain firmness and elasticity parameters.

Why does the design limit the strength of the conclusion?

The study is open-label and not placebo-controlled. Participants know they are taking the product, and skin can change over time with habits and environment. A before/after difference is therefore less causally convincing than a prespecified difference between a randomized active group and placebo.

The publication also states that the study was sponsored by Activ’Inside, the supplier of SkinAx²™, and that the authors were affiliated with the company. This does not make the results invalid; it increases the value of independent replication and should remain visible when assessing the evidence.

What about the “+34% collagen” figure?

Activ’Inside communicates an in vitro finding on collagen production in a laboratory model. This mechanistic result must not become “+34% collagen in the skin” for people taking Régénère™. A cell-model result and a human clinical outcome are different levels of evidence.

Which claims belong to the micronutrients?

  • Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of skin and contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, subject to the conditions of use.
  • Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal skin and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, subject to the conditions of use.

These claims belong to the relevant micronutrients; they are not a clinical trial of SkinAx²™ or Régénère™.
